Betty picks out the perfect outfit for Vancouver fashion week

March 22, 2009

Go Fashion..

It's kinda of a weird season this year: lots of trends that ar both cook and conflicting:

Silky: Sheer and simple. Light fabric and not a lot of accessories

Texture: Lots of billows and ruffles and plenty of not so smooth fabrics. A bit of an architectural style.

Print blouse: Billowy and peasant style, with lots of different styles of prints, though I am noticing that a watercolor look is pretty predominant

Hourglass: You don't have to go as far as the corset, but a simple cincher belt can extenuate those hips god blessed you with.

Blazer: Basically your boyfriend's spoftcoat.

Safari: Khaki, chunky wooden jewelery, and tribal prints. Try to stay away from animal prints, and fur is so passe.

Embellished: Anything with sequins, shineies or sparklies.

Soft pants: lots of room for the legs to breathe...

Full minis: lost of room for the legs to breathe...

Soft shorts: a combination of the two above

Sporty: Think of tennis one pieces and running shoes... Easiest trend ever!

Also, a few rules of thumb this season, Legs are in, so show them off. Lots of blues, greens and purple in the pallet this spring, and if you want to make a statement, use Yellow!
