I was so concerned that i was going to alienate the whole jewish race
with my Hanukkah strip. Got it right; no meat and cheese on the table,
right number of lights lit on the menorah. Perfect! So then what do
I do...?
I insult the Scots.
Sorry, it's Robbie Williams who sings "Rock DJ".
Robbie Burns is the poet who wrote such great works as "to
a mouse", "to a louse", and "to a lawyer".
The poet who embodies the noble spirit of the Scottish, and their tradition
of writing beautiful works of english about vermin. A Scottish hero
whose birthday... Internationally celebrated birthday... is
in one week.
I would like to apologize for the slip. As I discovered, the very nature
of my heritage, as betrayed by my name ("Appleby",
wonder where that's from?) makes me a target of celtic vile and bile.
So as an apology; I will dedicate my blog to great Scotsmen (and Scotswoman)
until Robbie Burns day!
